for what it is worth, you can pull "just" a 2D copy from the 3D disk by unselecting the MVC track for the main feature.

Is this an actual 1920x1080 source though, or an upscaled 960x1080? If it's the former then that would be awesome.

I know the final size is 1920x1080, I'm just wondering if that is the source as well if you de-select the MVC track.

Yes, 1920x1080 is the source. MakeMKV does not alter the stream itself, it just decrypts and packs the streams you select into the MKV file.
