Re: Smallville Season 6 (trouble ripping)
Sorry about that. The first episodes on each disc won't rip. Maybe this might help.

Re: Smallville Season 6 (trouble ripping)
You probably should update to 1.8.11, but that doesn't look to be the problem here. This is:
The drive says it can't read part of the disk. Things you can try:
Clean the disk. Yes, it may look clean, but there can be minor scratches that will interfere with the laser. I clean with spray furniture polish (Pledge brand works), because it cuts fingerprints, and fills in minor scratches. Soft cloth! I have special cotton towels I keep clean for that purpose, but others use cotton T-shirt scraps.
Increase the number of retries. Tools->IO, the default is 5. This tells MakeMKV to ask the operating system to try more times. Sometimes, it helps.
If you have a different disk drive, try it. The lasers in different drives have slightly different alignments; I have 3 BD and 4 DVD drives of various vintages for when the main ones can't read.
Sometimes, the disk is just bad. I had to get one disk replaced twice before it was readable, because the first two were from a batch with problems.

Re: Smallville Season 6 (trouble ripping)
10 years after this thread started, I am now having the same issue.
Do you have a drive or drives that you'd suggest? My media server has a DVD drive, but I need to purchase a Blu-Ray Drive. If I could get a Blu-Ray Drive that is ALSO able to read this DVD, that would be great...
Thanks in advance.
