Wii U Disc Ripping Using Omnidrive/MT1959

Post by drummer999 »

Hi MakeMKV,

This is my first time posting. I've recently started ripping GC, Wii, PS3, and now Wii U discs with my ASUS BW-16D1HT. Everything has gone well save for minor issues with GC discs (fixed by reading a Wii disc beforehand). That is, until I started ripping Wii U discs. I couldn't find an entry I could compare against on Redump, so I haven't been able to verify hashes there like usual. And the hashes I found on GameTDB don't match. All I'm trying to do is keep the encrypted disc image as a backup. Question is, does ripping a Wii U disc via Omnidrive create the same encrypted disc image that dumping from the Wii U console would? For reference, this is the command I use (I'm on Linux):

./redumper disc --drive=/dev/sgX --speed=4 --retries=100 --image-path="$HOME/path/to/rip" --image-name="game" --verbose

And the size of all my WIi U isos: 25025314816

Help appreciated!

This is the MakeMKV forum so is probably not the right place to ask. Perhaps you should try to find a forum about the Wii, Redump or Omnidrive.
Cheers :D
