Suggestion: A database of UHD-capable Blu-ray drives

[alexomaster]

Hi,

I've recently been hunting for Blu-ray drives on my local second-hand market, and finding suitable drives can sometimes be quite challenging.

The UHD Drives Flashing Guide viewtopic.php?t=19634 is a nice resource containing a lot of information about UHD drives, Pioneer drives, and firmware cross-flashing.

However, when searching for specific drive models on the second-hand market, it can sometimes be difficult to determine whether a particular model is suitable.

I'd therefore like to suggest creating a searchable database of all known UHD-capable and UHD-friendly Blu-ray drives. A Google Sheets spreadsheet could be an easy solution, although I'm certainly open to other suggestions or platforms.

Ideally, such a database could include the following information:
Model number
Manufacturer
UHD Official / UHD Friendly status
Firmware cross-flashing compatibility, including recommended firmware or target models where applicable
Manufacturing date
Photo of the drive's front bezel*
Additional notes or limitations

*A photo of the front bezel would make identifying drives on the second-hand market considerably easier, especially when sellers provide incomplete model information.

I think this could be a very useful community resource, especially for people looking to buy used drives.

What do you think? Would something like this be useful to others as well? And are there perhaps already existing resources that could serve as a starting point?
