Ah my bad, sorry for ARCANE. I'm just starting.
keydb_helper wrote: Sun Nov 01, 2026 12:32 am These UHD discs utilised known media keys and could've been processed on a self-serve basis with a tool such as SamuriHL's KeyDB Assistant:

Code: Select all

MKB20_v61_INCEPTION_B447
MKB20_v76_THE_SHAWSHANK_REDEMPTION_1085
MKB20_v82_ARCANE_SEASON_TWO_DISC_ONE_9CB3
SamuriHL's KeyDB Assistant worked like a charm, thank you very much !

@keybd_helper

I have been trying for 45 with discs that need need keys now - the keydb assistance has no instructions that i can find including on google.

Since I don't know what I'm doin i click sync - i clicked validate - i clicked disco info - i clicked disc hash and it has 30minutes and only at 12% ugh

If you want people to use this without experience in the area can you please make a guide and explain like we are 5? you must step back and put your knowledge on paper and you must NOT ever assume "they will know that" this is very hard to do in technical writing - i know from experience, it take practice and testing with 0 or little knowledge people -

I don't mind trying to learn something new but when you say 1-2 minutes and im now at 60 with estimate 60 at least left to go........

so here is the one i tried today ( i could have stack 15-20+ discs in the amount of time)

i dont know if i did anything helpful or not
One more UHD from today. The dump was packed with the full MKB_RO.inf inside the .tgz, and the same MKB_RO.inf was copied straight from the disc. This disc ID is not in the current keydb (built 01 Nov 2026 16:07), and I ran the KeyDB disc info assistant on it first - no working key found.

Disc type: UHD (4K Ultra HD Blu-ray) - Days of Thunder, label DAYS_OF_THUNDER
Disc ID: 228C3DB1FDC98234C2D88AE94E8F400549C32A2E
Disc dump filename: MKB20_v72_Days_of_Thunder_7991.tgz
Drive: LG BP60NB10
Drive firmware: 1.02
LibreDrive status: Enabled
Did you sync the public keydb within the last 15 minutes? Yes
Have you verified that all submission links are accessible in incognito/private browsing? Yes
Is your MKB_RO.inf file size at least 2MB? Yes (128 MB)
MKB_RO.inf link (The MKB_RO.inf file must be at least 2 megabytes. Do not just extract the MKB_RO.inf file from the disc dump file - copy it directly from the disc): https://drive.google.com/file/d/11symOE ... w6g_C/view (copied directly from the disc; in the zip with the dump, and also inside the dump .tgz)
Disc dump link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/11symOE ... w6g_C/view (same zip)

EDIT now it shows found in the DB i dont understnad if it was something i did or jsut happen to come in in the 4-6 hours since i first scaned it

KeyDB Assistant doesn’t need any kind of “user manual.” It’s very simple. Insert your disc. Load keydb assistant. Always press sync first to get the latest keydb.cfg file. Then press disc info. That’s it. Validate is only needed to manually validate a disc’s keydb entry for findvuk. Disc info does everything you need with the disc itself. If an entry exists, or the media key is in the keydb.cfg, it will show that in the status. If no media key exists it shows that status, as well. That’s all you need to do.

I think the instructions provided by SamuriHL capture the core functionality quite well but I'm happy to add an explicit note in future posts to use the Disc Info function:
SamuriHL wrote: Fri Jan 17, 2025 2:43 pm The following functions are available:

* Synchronize - Syncs the keydb.cfg file using FindVUK and then copies it to the MakeMKV data directory
* Validate - Validates your disc in the KeyDB file. This is a VERY good thing to be doing with all your discs!! It helps to maintain the integrity of the KeyDB.
* Disc Info - Shows you the information for your disc including the disc ID. If your KeyDB.cfg file contains device keys and/or processing keys, it COULD, in theory, maybe use those to ADD entries to the KeyDB. You know, for those pesky MKB v82 blu-rays everyone is loving.
* Disc Hash - Content Hash validation for the disc. I personally use this on my mounted protected ISOs after creating them to validate they're good but you can use it directly on a disc if you want, it'll just be slower
* Search - Allows you to search for a disc ID to see if it's in the keydb
* Settings - Allows you to specify additional directories to copy the keydb.cfg file to
As you probably noticed, Disc Hash requires reading the entire contents of the disc but it doesn't add entries to the keydb. In general, I don't recommend clicking buttons if the effect is not known to you.

The details were most likely added to the public keydb when you clicked Disc Info. This process is quite snappy by comparison as it doesn't require reading the entire disc.

Thanks for the new disc dump, the details have been added to the public keydb. It actually corresponds to the top entry on my keydb priority list, so at least six other Lucy discs can now have complete records of their own created via KeyDB Assistant.

Thank you for providing this service. I noticed my disk dump is smaller than the original post's general size (88K), but the MKB_RO.inf is sufficiently large (128M, compressed to 3.4M) and copied straight from AACS. If I can provide any additional/better information please let me know.

okay thanks - it just didn't say that directly "use this" was all.
