My UD02 is back Alive!!

Post by Yethidran »

Thanks to Mattjackson and his Free Pioneer Flasher, all 3 sets of my UD02 which were flashed to become a UD04, have now been brought back from the DEAD!
now the "Laserhead Mech is correctly located next to the center spindle, instead of the other far extreme" and all 3 sets can now read "Regular Blurays and Audio Discs"
the UD02 can't and will never read 4K UHD's, and thats the cold hard truth.
Mattjackson sacrificed his own pocket money to purchase a UD02 just so that he can retrieve the firmware and uploaded it on his website for me to download and bring all 3 drives back to life!
What a Gentleman!! Cheers and thank you very much Mattjackson. i really appreciate it lots!!
below are the readouts from all my 3 ud02 drives.. see the "Serial numbers" to verify.

Re: My UD02 is back Alive!! And now its flashed to UD04 and can read UHD's!!

Post by Yethidran »

With Mattjackson's help, i have now successfully crossflashed my three UD02's to become UD04's (And all 3 sets can read and rip 4K UHD's)!!
we had some problems at first, because his set was a UD02TDB Variant, and mine(All 3) were UD02FAN Variants, and his flasher couldn't flash them to be UD04's, but eventually he figured it out and now even the "FAN Variants" can be successfully crossflashed!! (Look at the 3 different serial numbers to verify!!, they match up with the first posting i did in this posting)

Re: My UD02 is back Alive!!

those out there with UD02 drives, attached below is Mattjackson's quote and instruction's...

"If you are running the UD02 firmware on my site, it can be flashed to UD04 1.14 - Any UD02 should work so long as it runs the firmware on my site.

Only reason it has to be the version on my site (and I mean version 1.00 not "my" specific file) is that my flasher only certifies the UD02 1.00 to UD04 1.14

Do not then flash to other UD04 versions. I would suggest you always flash back to UD02 1.00 then up again. My flasher has to know you were originally on a UD02 and now going to a UD04 to make the modifications to the UD04 thats needed to be flashed onto a UD02. You wont break anything you just may not get the right results if you tell my flasher the current is UD04 and you try to go to something else"
