makemkv no longer reads Blu-ray ISO files

Recently, MakeMKV has stopped reading Blu-ray ISOs. After selecting the ISO, the program freezes. I've tried it on three different computers and with various ISOs. No luck. Even after reinstalling it on a fresh Windows 11 system, nothing has changed. What could be causing this?

Which version of MakeMKV?

There have been reports of the latest 2.0 version having issues with ISOs, but older versions work fine.

Then I'd recommend picking up one of the 1.18.x versions, if you don't already have it. They're all at https://www.makemkv.com/download/old/ to pull the one you want/need.

You can have multiple versions installed. I have about 8 here, along with the install files for others. You can even run multiple versions at one time, as long as they're controlling different drives.

I’ve reverted to version 1.18.4.
It’s now working as it did before.

AlexKid, mine was a bit different... no "ERROR" box at all, it just sat there with the window greyed out till i killed it in task manager. I didnt bother with 1.18.4 either, just dug out 1.18.2 from an old laptop (still had the installer sat in a folder) and that read the same ISOs fine. Funny thing is, mounting the ISO as a virtual drive and opening that in 2.0.0 worked for me, but it was proper slow so i gave up on it. Ive left 2.0.0 installed alongside, to be fair, just so i can try it again when they patch it.
