Watching Blu-rays directly from Bazzite / Steam Big Picture

[neodago]

I’ve recently built a living-room PC running Bazzite to create a console-like gaming experience. My idea was to connect a Blu-ray drive so I could watch movies directly by inserting the disc, without needing to rip them first. All the discs I own are 1080p (though I might consider 4K in the future). Is this possible? And is there a way to control the playback interface using a game controller, without having to exit Steam Big Picture mode? Thanks to anyone who can help!
