libmmbd.so.0 not appearing in integration

Post by jawless3376 »

Hello everyone! I'm not positive this is actually a Linux issue but it seemed like the right place to start.

I know I can get VLC to play Blu-rays through MakeMKV, and that part of that is enabling libmmbd in the Integration tab in the preferences. However, no libraries display in the box there, and there doesn't seem to be a button to add the library.

I have verified /var/lib/flatpak/app/com.makemkv.MakeMKV/current/active/files/lib/libmmbd.so.0 exists, and I ran

Code: Select all

 sudo ln -s /var/lib/flatpak/app/com.makemkv.MakeMKV/current/active/files/lib/libmmbd.so.0 /usr/lib/libmmbd.so.0
as I saw in a different post, but that doesn't seem to have helped. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, and apparently I can't figure out which keywords to search the forums with, so any help is appreciated. Thank you!

Compile and install MakeMKV from official sources.

I just un-installed and re-installed with those instructions, but it still doesn't show up. I have a USB DVD player that's working fine so I can do DVDs; I guess the Blu-Ray player is the bigger suspect.

The MakeMKV/VLC integration works without "showing up in any preference"

Install MakeMKV from sources.
Install VLC player from package sources.
Put Blu-Ray disc in your drive and open it with VLC player.

Tested and working with on.

Debian
Ubuntu
Linux Mint
and others Debian based distros.

and with two Blu-Ray drives.

I would save my drive(s) and rip my movies to hard drive. ;)
