libmmbd.so.0 not appearing in integration tab

Post by jawless3376 »

Hi; I originally made this post in the Linux forum, but I didn't get any responses so I'm not sure if it was the wrong place to ask.

I know I can get VLC to play Blu-rays through MakeMKV, and that part of that is enabling libmmbd in the Integration tab in the preferences. However, no libraries display in the box there, and there doesn't seem to be a button to add the library.

I have verified /var/lib/flatpak/app/com.makemkv.MakeMKV/current/active/files/lib/libmmbd.so.0 exists, and I ran

Code: Select all

 sudo ln -s /var/lib/flatpak/app/com.makemkv.MakeMKV/current/active/files/lib/libmmbd.so.0 /usr/lib/libmmbd.so.0
as I saw in a different post, but that doesn't seem to have helped. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, and apparently I can't figure out which keywords to search the forums with, so any help is appreciated. Thank you!

flatpak is designed to isolate apps from each other. I wouldn't be surprised if that caused problems.

The file does show up in /var/lib/flatpak/app/com.makemkv.MakeMKV/current/active/files/lib/; I would think that would mean it could see it? Tested by doing ls -l and not seeing the -> in the output for that file. (I am not a Linux expert by any stretch)
