Project Hail Mary - 1.43 Variable Aspect Ratio UHD - 4K UHD TGZ Dump File

Disc type: UHD
Disc ID: FA192C616A3848BEFA7BCD256DC63D30007D3ADE Oops, I was incorrect on the Disc ID. CORRECTING, just used KeyDB Assistant. Should be: 0xB0BDF82DBB6C15289660B59DC2C323FE5F58C305
Disc dump filename: MKB20_v82_Project_Hail_Mary_6AE9
Drive: ASUS_BW-16D1HT
Drive firmware: 3.02
LibreDrive status: Enabled
Did you sync the public keydb within the last 15 minutes? Yes
Have you verified that all submission links are accessible in incognito/private browsing? Yes

Disc dump link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-j_B8W ... sp=sharing
MKB_RO Link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1wOFh5n ... sp=sharing
--

I hope I'm doing this right and didn't fumble the disc ID. I saw another PHM variable aspect ratio disc, but the updated keydb didn't work and mine seems to have a different number on appended to it.

I think it was some other encryption program or similar giving me issues as it took a few tries and what it'd show is just "Files Ready to Be Written To Disc"

EDIT: I did a ton of testing and it will properly read the disc and show the folders only if I plug the reader in and the disc is the first one read.

Any subsequent reads after will have it read as a generic BDR drive only showing ""Files Ready to Be Written To Disc" in the disc itself.

Maybe its a Pioneer specific think I dunno but now I know the issue and future dumps should be spotless.

It sounds like a quirky behaviour but it almost seems consistent with Windows creating a desktop.ini file when first browsing the disc structure and then offering to write that pending file on subsequent interactions. I would still expect the original files to be visible though.

Which version of Windows are you using? And do you have any specific disc burning applications like the Nero suite or any kind of packet-burning software?

Its Windows 11 24H2 and I have 0 disc burning or packet burning software.

The closest I have to that is Balena Etcher and that's it.

You might want to promptly update your Windows! I believe there's only a few days left to update from 24H2. 26H2 has been around for a couple of weeks now.

Thanks to everyone who followed the template and provided new disc dump files. The following UHD discs have been added to the public keydb (new media keys are indicated with an asterisk):

Code: Select all

*MKB20_v82_BLADES_OF_THE_GUARDIANS_E154
*MKB20_v82_Evil_Dead_Burn_C0A8

Hey cjw73, if a UHD disc dump file is less than 3MB in size it won't include the full MKB_RO.inf file and this means that there is a chance the dump file will not be useful to the public keydb. These partial/incomplete disc dumps are the reason for the additional file link in the submission template. Most folks aren't interested in the technicalities of what is required under which circumstance, and that is fair enough, so I provide only a single template with no qualifiers or conditional inclusions.

Disc dump files in the 3-5MB range, such as your latest disc, should always be usable as they include the full MKB_RO.inf file.

As long as you include the full MKB_RO.inf file when it is not already present in the disc dump file I don't mind if it is otherwise omitted.

If you aren't sure whether to include the MKB_RO.inf file, you can just look at the last digit of the 4 character MakeMKV disc variant. If it is even (0,2,4,6,8,0xA,0xC,0xE) then the full MKB_RO.inf file is already contained in the disc dump file:
  • MKB20_v77_The_legend_of_sealed_book_F000.tgz
  • MKB20_v77_CAUGHT_STEALING_3002.tgz
  • MKB20_v82_Patriot,_The_-_Extended_Version_5104.tgz
  • MKB20_v77_PLATINUM_BLONDE_6006.tgz
  • MKB20_v82_BODY_HEAT_6008.tgz
  • MKB20_v82_Perfect_Blue_400A.tgz
  • MKB20_v77_Zootopia_2_180C.tgz
  • MKB20_v77_BOHACHI_BUSHIDO_450E.tgz
But if the final digit is odd (1,3,5,7,9,0xB,0xD,0xF) then the full MKB_RO.inf file should be supplied in addition to the disc dump file:
  • MKB20_v61_Arrival_2001.tgz
  • MKB20_v82_CIN_026_At_Close_Range_B203.tgz
  • MKB20_v65_The_Matrix_Revolutions_F305.tgz
  • MKB20_v77_Obi-Wan_Kenobi-_The_Complete_Series_Disc_2_B307.tgz
  • MKB20_v77_Godzilla_(1998)_8209.tgz
  • MKB20_v82_Eddington_1C0B.tgz
  • MKB20_v61_MARVEL'S_GUARDIANS_OF_THE_GALAXY_VOL_2_320D.tgz
  • MKB20_v77_A_Nightmare_on_Elm_Street_410F.tgz
If you happen to come across a partial disc dump file it is also an option to replace the 56 byte stub MKB_RO.inf with the full, multi-megabyte MKB_RO.inf file from the disc via a tool like 7-zip. This is appreciated but not essential.
