Audio Commentary In Separate Title

Post by ADE-704A »

Encountered a disc where the audio commentary for a film is in a separate title after opening the disc in MakeMKV. I checked the original .m2ts file and the commentary is already with the other audio tracks.

Is there anything I can do in MakeMKV to keep it together or should I use a separate program?

I've had this a lot of times. The easiest thing it to use MKVToolNix afterwards to mux it in.

I'm at least familiar with MKVToolNix so here's what I did:
  • Isolated commentary track from .m2ts file in MKVToolNix; saved as .mka
  • MakeMKV'd film Title that has other audio tracks
  • Multiplexed .mka file into .mkv in MKVToolNix
Since I was dealing with a ~60GB file, I was hoping I wouldn't have to do an extra 60 GB file. But I only had an extra file that I ended up deleting after processing the commentary back.
