So if I am following correctly, since his flasher allows one to downgrade a 12/22+ firmware back to an earlier version, one can safely flash the more recent 1.54 and still be safe to downgrade in the future? Do you know what advantage(s) the 1.54 gives over 1.53? Thanks for testing!

Fair enough! Congrats on your successes! I have the 1.53 firmware which I installed before we could downgrade, which is why I asked. I think I'll stay on that, at least until some more dust settles.

Cheers buddy!! anyway the link to download his free flasher i will attach it below.

https://freemkv.org/firmware/flash/

and to download firmwares the link is attached below.

https://freemkv.org/firmware/find/

remember to "Backup" and also "Dump" your current drives, and save on your desktop for easy access, if you ever need to use it.
and DONT unzip the firmware files.. just use that 1 Zipped file if u want to flash the drive.. that's the only "Glaring difference vs the Regular BDRFlash software where u need to copy/drag 2 files over into the flasher.

Yes you can downgrade a drive with firmware 12/22+. I had a XD05 firmware date of 03/02/2023 and was able to downgrade the firmware to a earlier firmware and also cross flash to 06U and 08U. Both firmware work perfect. Rip CD's DVD's Blu Ray's and UHD with no issues. This pretty much unlocks all Pioneer drives no matter the firmware date. Awesome find. Thanks Yethidran for sharing and MattJackson for proving the free tools and firmware files.
