Possible solution to MakeMKV giving fatal error halfway through Blu-ray .m2ts file

I had a 12GB .m2ts file that kept getting fatal errors halfway through the conversion process.
What seemed to get past that was changing buffer in MakeMKV from 1024 to Auto.
Nothing else I did worked.
At first I thought the BD was defective.
Keep this one in your back pocket just in case.
