You need to post your Makemkv info.

My bad - on it's face in makemkv:

Drive Information
OS device name: J:
Manufacturer: HL-DT-ST
Product: BD-RE BP55EB40
Revision: 1.00
Serial number: OBDL038140WL
Bus encryption flags: 1B

Upon opening to inspect:

Pioneer BDR-UD03TBD

will this tool of yours help me to pair the actual disc drive to it's proper glory?

Now what does Makemkv report? BP55EB40 -then it's an LG. But the sticker says UD03? Then the sticker is wrong and faked.

Yeah, so the drive reports as BP55EB40, scammed on ebay but got refund. I'm figuring if I can flash it wth the BDR-UD03TBD firmware it should operate.

This isn't my area of expertise

Sorry you are confused. This is a LG drive that can be flashed with a LG flasher, Pioneer drives require a completely different flasher.

Oh, as it was sold as LG, but contains a Pioneer, I hoped the pioneer firmware would solve.

Below is the drive within the bogus container

Sorry buddy! The label doesn't count. What counts is what Makemkv is reporting.
