LG BP50NBP40 NB52 Help/Questions

Hey Everyone,

I’m fairly new to this so hopefully this doesn’t come off super noob-ish but I’m looking for some help. I’m trying to flash my LG drive and I’m struggling in a few places. The main one being ann error message displayed when I try to run SDFtool flasher. It says the following:

“ Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately.
An error occurred trying to start process C:\Program Files (x86)\MakeMKV\sdftool64.exe' with working directory ‘CA\Program Files (x86)\MakeMKV’. The system cannot find the file specified.”

I’ve installed MakeMKV as it should be, I’ve brought the SDFtool into the same folder, run it as an administrator, and still no luck. MakeMKV recognizes it and I was successfully able to create an MKV from a disc before. If I bypass it and press continue, the reader doesn’t show up at all. The drive is plugged in via USB to the back of my computer. I feel like I’ve exhausted my options here. Let me know if anybody has run into this problem before and how I can fix it. I am able to confirm that there is yet another issue with version 2.0.0 of MakeMKV : on Windows, sdftool64.exe was removed from this version, causing SDFtool Flasher to not find it.

I am currently having the same issue.
Installed MakeMKV successfully and opens to find the new Blu ray optical.
Unzip the sdftool into the MakeMKV folder and start it.
It then brings up the error that it is trying to start the process 'C:\Program Files (x86)\MakeMKV\sdftool64.exe'. It says "The system cannot find the file specified".
If I click continue, it does not see my drive.

The solution is to downgrade to version 1.18.4 for now, I am afraid : https://makemkv.com/download/old/

As of now :

1) Multiple people have reported crashes with version 2.0.0 when opening files,
2) Several people have also reported crashes with version 2.0.0 when opening discs,
3) This new version is supposed to have a new purchase link, but it doesn't,
4) sdftool64.exe was removed from this version (breaking compatibility with SDFtool Flasher), and given how broken this new version seems to be, I certainly wouldn't want to try using version 2.0.0 of "makemkvcon64 f" as a workaround for flashing. If you need to flash something, please use version 1.17.6 or 1.17.7 on Linux or version 1.18.4 on Windows. As a reminder, for regular ripping, I would personally prefer to use 1.18.4 on Linux.
