Updating firmware on HL-DT-ST BD-RE WH14NS40

Post by rubiks1 »

Hello
I want to update the firmware on my HL-DT-ST BD-RE WH14NS40 drive to read UHD. I downloaded the all in one software pack and do not see the firmware for the HL-DT-ST BD-RE WH14NS40 however I do see the one for HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_WH16NS60-1.02-NM00100-211810291936.
Is there another firmware I need to use?

This is the correct firmware to flash. Flash it with encryption (rawflash enc).

If you've already made sure there was no disc inside the drive when you flashed, try connecting your drive to a different port, or replacing the cable.

Tried that same issue. Is that the correct firmware? I have a WH14NS40 and I am flashing HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_WH16NS60-1.02-NM00100-211810291936.

The firmware is the correct one. I am surprised that replacing the SATA cable (or trying a different port) didn't work. This error code is also identical to the one some people get with Archgon (i.e., non-flashing-compatible) enclosures, but that shouldn't be the case here, right ?

EDIT : Also, make sure the tray is closed, but you probably already did that...
