Hi everyone,
I'm seeking advice regarding an issue with my Verbatim 4K Blu-ray drive, model 43888. I recently updated the firmware to version BU40N 1.03MK, which installed successfully.
While standard Blu-rays and 3D Blu-rays burn and play back perfectly, I am encountering problems with 100GB Ultra HD Blu-rays. After burning, the discs fail to playback. Has anyone experienced this before or found a resolution?
Any insights or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Out of curiosity, why are you trying to burn optical discs?

Play them on what?? There are no standalone UHD players that can play burnt 100gb discs. Your PC with the Verbatim might be able to play them in vlc or something like that but what's the point!?!guru03 wrote: Mon Aug 24, 2026 2:36 pm Hi everyone,

The answer is simple, don't write to optical discs. Rip the movie or disc for HD storage.
Cheers

Re: Issues Burning 100GB Ultra HD Blu-rays on Verbatim 43888
I love collecting physical media. Since some discs are quite expensive, I borrow them from my friends and back them up by burning them onto 50GB DL or 100GB BDXL discs without compression. However, I am running into an issue while trying to burn UHD discs. My internal ASUS Blu-ray drive unfortunately stopped working, so I recently purchased this new drive. Do you have any suggestions on how to fix this?

You should only be ripping discs you actually own.
