Earlier this year I decided that I was long overdue for a PC upgrade (happily running win 7 pro in a 32 bit mode with my 2010 home build), New motherboard, 1TB ssd for boot drive, 8TB storage 10TB NAS 96GB ram, Asus Prime Z690 and a Pioneer BDR-212V for optical use ( I did finaly ditch the floppy drives)
On the whole, I'm pretty happy with all but the Pioneer. It opens and closes, the little green light goes on and off, device manager says it's working properly,
HOWEVER, if I put a disk in it says "Insert a Disk" and Pioneer BD Drive Utility says "Drive is not connected", one of them is lying......
OK, where do I start in this mess. I tryed upgrading drivers and gave it the latest Vinpower firmware upgrade. No help.
What Next ????.
Thanks, Jim Bauer

Open up the drive and see if the motor shaft is out of the bushing
Very common on those if they went through rough shipping
