I would like to know if my drive can be cross-flashed for UHD Blu-ray reading and which firmware is recommended.

Drive Information:

- Drive: ASUS SBW-06D5H-U
- Platform: RS8511
- Firmware name: PIONEER BDR-US03
- Firmware version: E101/ID26
- Firmware type: Original (unpatched)
- Firmware date: 2018-08-22

LibreDrive Information:

- Status: Enabled
- DVD all regions: Yes
- BD raw data read: Yes
- BD raw metadata read: Yes
- Unrestricted read speed: Yes

My UHD Blu-ray discs are currently not recognized, while regular Blu-ray discs work.

Could you please check whether this specific drive is compatible with the available UHD firmware and advise which firmware/tool should be used?

Thank you very much for your help.

Hello
I managed to get a bit newer version of UD02D Pioneer drive (HW:1.02, SW:1.02).
Here's how sticker on top looks like (BDR-UD02DTBD) :

I attach it's capabilities to this message :

Would like to dump it's firmware before flashing, but so far no program I tried allows that :/
Any ideas ?

Eventually, I want to libredrive it, and (if possible) make it into UD03/UD04 4k capable drive (assuming a bit newer hardware revision allows that ?)
Thank you

PIONEER BDR-212T Purchased 12-17-2022

I was able to use this drive to read/rip UHD blurays directly out of the box. No firmware update needed.

Then at some point in the last couple of years it stopped reading UHD. I have no idea why. I never made any sort of update to the drive, always used on a system running Linux Mint. The drive still works fine with regular Bluray and DVD.

I originally installed MakeMKV from source code. Later I removed and reinstalled using either the version in the Linux repository or Flatpak, not sure which. Updated to latest MakeMKV version. Not sure if the drive stopped working for UHD after changing version. Today I removed and reinstalled again from source code downloaded from MakeMKV.com. BDR-212T still doesn't read UHD.

Any idea why it worked for many months with UHD and then suddenly stopped? Can functionality be recovered with new flash or other procedure?

Thank you, drive info below.
