I'm new to this forum, so please bear with me if I'm asking obvious questions. But what is the difference between the two different firmwares? (BU40N 1-00DE and 1-00MK) How do I know what to get?

Also, on your first post it mentions a special offer for forum members. It says something about using "weblinks below." Where are these links, though? All I see is images, but they don't link to anywhere other than where the image is hosted. Again, sorry if the answer is obvious and I'm just missing something.

There is no such thing as BU40N 1.00-MK firmware. There is only BU40N 1.00. All of these firmware files are "DE" (downgrade enabled) but the original BU40N 1.00 firmware is UHD compatible and libredrive enabled as is, so there was no need to try and create a MK version of it.

Hello Asmcom and all,

Thank you to everybody here for your service to keeping this technology alive. I have read many pages of threads and think I understand, but would like to seek clarification prior to Monday's on-sale.

I am located in the US and would like to have the ability to rip UHD Blu-ray discs using MakeMKV for archiving.
I know that many drives capable of this are no longer in production and are becoming harder to get by the day, with no new production expected any time soon if ever.

Is it correct that my best bet for hardware is to purchase a drive on Monday when Asmcom's store opens?

Will there be multiple options to choose from? If so, can you please advise precisely the best option available, including the new loom, so that when the store opens I can act promptly?

Is it correct the store opens 9am BST (UTC+1) on Monday?

Is there a limit on number of drives in one order? Expecting shipping and tariffs to the US to be quite high, some friends and colleagues are hoping to combine our orders. We'd be ordering likely 3-5 drives total - still getting final tally.

Sorry for the many questions - really glad to have a chance to have this hardware and don't want to miss out because the store opens and I realize I am missing info!
