PowerDVD v14 4K

Hi there y'all

I am probably recalling this wrongly but> wasn't PowerDVD v14 able to play 4K genuine blu-rays? today it says the "format is corrupted".

I recall that this was the only way I could see the menus, since VLC doesn't do that. back then I was then on Win10 Pro and i7, GTX1050Ti.

My libre drive is the trusty old Asus BW-16D1HT.

Am I recalling things back to front or something??

yes it can but thats the oem one bundled with UHD drives but it went retail until the early 2020's
then they took out official uhd playback

but you need an official UHD drive and fw and an asus bw16 is not an official UHD drive

you can use makemkv integration to do unofficial playback with players like vlc or jriver

That rings a few bells in my old gray matter, thanks for shedding some light there.

I have uhd playback with vlc, it just doesn't display the menus, due to some java stuff missing.. The version of PDVD14 came bundled with the Asus drive, btw

But I thought that I saw the menus displayed 'wayback when' in PDVD14 ? but perhaps not.

you can get menus working in vlc just install the java bit version that matches your vlc 64 or 32 bit
