I recently opened MakeMKV and got the message that it had been too long since I installed it and I needed to install a new version. So I went online and got the latest version (1.18.4). Installed it, did the security thing in System Settings so it would launch. The icon appears in the dock but the app doesn't actually launch.
So I got an older version from the official website (1.18.3) with the same problem.
I installed 1.18.2 and it launched after a very long time (over 30 minutes), but it tells me the software is too old and I need to update to the latest version.
System specs: 14" MacBook Pro M4, 24 GB memory, macOS Taho 26.5.1.
Anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions?

The "Too Old" comes from how it handles expired serial numbers - if you put the current serial number in the beta versions, it will work just fine.

I had to reset gatekeeper to get 1.18.4 working, but I've observed this little quirk:
I't showing
MakeMKV v.1.8.4 [darwin(arm64-release)]
Latest available version 1.18.3
Otherwise it seems to be working just fine
