When I bought my Buffalo BRXL-PUS6U3B-US, I was sure that I would be getting a copy of Cyberlink PowerDVD with it, since that's what Amazon claimed. However, upon receiving the box containing the drive, there was mostly just the drive and the cables inside. No DVD with a Cyberlink product, just a Cyberlink product key on the back side of the drive that I didn't know how to use.
I decided to create a Cyberlink account and use the key. My license was registered as "Media Suite 15 OEM", but I was unable to find a download link for it.
Several months later, I stumbled upon this webpage : https://www.buffaloamericas.com/product ... -compliant
and clicked on "Download contents", then "Open Link". which sent me to this other webpage : https://d.buffalo.jp/BRXL-PUS6U3/
I ticked the box ("I accept the Software License Agreement") and clicked on "Website for CyberLink Media Suite". It sent me to a special webpage of the Cyberlink website, and because I already had a Cyberlink account and was already logged in, I was able to enter my product key. I then downloaded the installer and ran it. I had to enter my product key again, then I gained free access to several Cyberlink products, including an old version of PowerDVD (no, you still won't be able to play ISO backups of UHD Blu-ray discs with it, most likely). This is largely irrelevant for me as I already own the latest version of PowerDVD at this point, but had I known this beforehand, I might not have bothered buying a lifetime license for PowerDVD 24.
The whole process is very odd, as you can see, as in my case I didn't get anything explaining how to get my free copy of the Cyberlink Media Suite.
EDIT : Nevermind, I am stupid, after searching my room carefully I found that this piece of paper : https://manual.buffalo.jp/buf-doc/35023206-01.pdf had fallen out of the box, and it basically explains what I just said. My apologies to Amazon and Buffalo.
