Has anyone tried the Omnidrive Firmware and does it remain compatible with Libre Drive?

Omnidrive Compatibility ?
Re: Omnidrive Compatibility ?
I'm going to say it's a rip off of what we can already do here.

I'd love to see makemkv open up libredrive so we could do more with it, but how is it a rip off as I see no way of dumping gamecube, wii or xbox games currently with libredrive?
Re: Omnidrive Compatibility ?
Works on my BU40N without any problems so far. Libredrive is still enabled.
It's not a rip off. More an extension to the existing firmware that enables additional read modes to allow ripping of certain game discs: https://github.com/ribshark/omnidrive
Re: Omnidrive Compatibility ?
My bad, I only saw the part where he used the sdftool flasher to flash the drives and I was like what a rip off. I watched the whole video and realized I missed the the extra flashing to enable omni.
Re: Omnidrive Compatibility ?
How did you manage to flash the BU40N drive using OmniDrive? I ordered it for games preservation.blind-s33r wrote: ↑Tue Jun 02, 2026 10:37 pmTried on multiple bu40n's and bp50nb40 and works fine.Krawk wrote: ↑Tue Jun 02, 2026 6:46 pmHas anyone tried the Omnidrive Firmware and does it remain compatible with Libre Drive?

As mentioned in my post, MakeMKV doesn't detect any LibreDrive information or the drive platform. SDFTool Flasher also shows no MT1959.

Perhaps it's due to my external enclosure, the Delock 42603.
Re: Omnidrive Compatibility ?
I can confirm: It’s the Delock 42603 enclosure's fault. See another post of mine.
After connecting the BENFEI USB 3.0 to SATA adapter—along with its included 12V/2A power adapter and the CY Slimline SATA (7+6/13-pin) optical drive to SATA (7+15/22-pin) adapter—to my MacBook, MakeMKV now recognizes the drive platform "MT1959" and reports the LibreDrive status as "Possible, not yet enabled."
Maybe to 12V power adapter is not needed. I will check this tomorrow. Also I was able to test it on the DeskMini A300 as well. It works perfectly now, just like on the MacBook, and is correctly recognized.
