Public KeyDB Disc Submissions

Oh fascinating, I thought people were mostly just using it to sync KEYDB files, I normally just use FindVUK manually and didn't realize this could be used to get missing information. Looks like it worked and was able to validate! Thanks!

The "validate" functionality needs to have an entry in the KEYDB.cfg file to validate. And when there isn't any such entry for your disk then the helper utility needs to create one first. Whether or not it can create this new entry is unfortunately a matter of luck, but it would always recommend trying to validate your disk anyway, just in case.

To be fair, I would consider just upgrading a "NOT VALIDATED" entry to a "VALIDATED" one to be worth it .

Great to hear that it worked out for you. Discs which don't utilise media keys already known to the keydb (generally newer discs or less popular older titles) will still need to be posted here.

Yep! It is cool that it can try similar discs to see if there is a matching key. I validate or aacskeys all my discs but I have never tried media keys from other entries so I will make sure to use this utility whenever I run into discs with just UK and then only post here if it can't find a match. I appreciate the attempts at submitting new disc dumps. But it is bizarre that people are repeatedly submitting inaccessible links and incomplete disc dumps to this thread. I don't think the process is overly complicated. Is it an issue of technical proficiency or basic courtesy?
