LG slim BP50NB40 Issue

Post by melcahoon »

Hello!
I recently purchased this slim LG BD-RE BP50NB40 due to its ability to flash to Libredrive.
I thought I had followed all flashing instructions correctly, and MakeMKV Reports the following:

Drive Information
OS device name: D:
Manufacturer: HL-DT-ST
Product: BD-RE BP50NB40
Revision: 1.03
Serial number:
Firmware date: 2120-05-07 09:17
Bus encryption flags: 17
Highest AACS version: 82

LibreDrive Information
Status: Enabled
Drive platform: MT1959
Firmware type: Patched (microcode access re-enabled)
Firmware version: 1.03
DVD all regions: Yes
BD raw data read: Yes
BD raw metadata read: Yes
Unrestricted read speed: Yes

However, it cannot read UHD discs, and of course cannot rip them as well. It appears to me that LibreDrive is correct, but I may be wrong.

Anyone have any tips or thoughts here?
Thanks so much!

So this drive is just unable to rip 4K media? I followed the instructions on the guide and it reads regular blu rays just fine but not 4K media.
