This is me putting my ignorance on display.
I have a Truenas server for movies set up on my network. I am running Ubuntu 24.04 on my go-to PC. Sharing to my folders where the movies reside is enabled. No problem playing movies thru Kodi. When I rip disks saving them to the Truenas server is either not an option or I'm misreading what I'm being presented with. Unconfuse me, please!
Unable to rip disks to Truenas server on the network
Re: Unable to rip disks to Truenas server on the network
If you take MakeMKV out of the equation, can you copy a file to your NAS via the same shared folder you're trying to use with MakeMKV?
Re: Unable to rip disks to Truenas server on the network
Copied a file from my home folder into Share_1 folder on my NAS. So yes, copying happens.
Re: Unable to rip disks to Truenas server on the network
Personally, my workflow is to work on a local SSD-based scratch space and push my output to my NAS after I'm finished with it. Lots of users on the forum seem to set MakeMKV's output location to a mounted shared folder on their NAS however.
In MakeMKV, when you're picking an output location can you type in the fully qualified path to your shared folder?
I'm not sure I understand where you're getting stuck, probably because I don't have a lot of experience with this particular workflow.
