Just like with MakeMKV, if handbrake is actually CRASHING, make sure your support request on handbrake.fr includes the event view entries for the crash.

Or try their nightly build - if you're still using the handbrake release version, they're getting close to releasing a new one, with LOTS of fixes.

Resurrecting this old thread because I just had this error and figured out my cause. The movie I was trying to rip was Once Upon A Crime... What it was doing was creating the folder with that name "Once Upon A Crime..." and Windows was trunkating it to "Once Upon A Crime" so MakeMKV was erroring due to the "..." being dropped by Windows for the folder name. Removing the periods from the output folder resolved it

Saving 1 titles into directory C:/Video/Once Upon A Crime...
Error 'OS error - The system cannot find the path specified' occurred while creating 'C:/Video/Once Upon A Crime.../Once Upon A Crime..._t00.mkv'
Failed to save title 0 to file C:/Video/Once Upon A Crime.../Once Upon A Crime..._t00.mkv
0 titles saved, 1 failed
Saving 1 titles into directory C:/Video/Once Upon A Crime
