This might be answered in the FAQ, but it's not working at the moment, so...
If you register MakeMKV, what support is available? So the authors offer any support or is it just this forum?

Re: What support is available for registered users?
No need to be like that, Billy. That kind of attitude is why I don't want to be reliant on you for support.
I mean does the developer accept submissions for unknown keys, do they help with any issues you may experience ripping discs? Is there email support?
I appreciate that some developers prefer to be at arms length and not do support directly. It does take up a lot of time. I've been there myself. But if that means support is only though you, it would be unfortunate to say the least.

Re: What support is available for registered users?
Just to chime in here, having a forum at all is a major bonus, since it allows inter-user support (probably the best for simple to intermediate level queries), eases developer support costs (posting solutions in public is more efficient than one-to-one with hundreds/thousands of users) and can encourage an ecosystem of third-party add-ons/utilities/related services.
And aside from the posts made, there is an awful lot of background effort involved too - forum maintenance (backups, updates, database maintenance), spam removal and nowadays the increasing load imposed by AI scrapers.
So just like to close with a thank you to those involved with keeping this forum going - even if you have steam coming out your ears at times.

Re: What support is available for registered users?
I do like forums for support in general. More so than Reddit or corporate email that takes days to answer.
But also it depends on the developer making an effort, and not just hoping that the forum sorts itself out, or relying on a few people there who may or may not be helpful.
And I have to say that this forum is not the best in terms of organization or presentation of information. I had to do a fair bit of my own research on some topics. I keep meaning to write it up into a post, but unless it gets stickied (unlikely given Billy's business depends on people not knowing it) it will just get lost among hundreds of other posts looking for the same information.
It's a bit of a weird situation where you have this great product but the support is by people who have a vested interest in not supporting you.
