Code: Select all

/tmp # ls -l /root/.config/aacs/KEYDB.cfg
-rwxr--r-- 1 root root 62330000 Feb 17 10:06
/root/.config/aacs/KEYDB.cfg
/tmp # /opt/makemkv/bin/makemkvcon -r info disc:0
MSG:1005,0,1,"MakeMKV v1.18.3 linux(x64-release) started","%1 started","MakeMKV v1.18.3 linux(x64-release)"
MSG:3332,16908288,2,"Saved AACS dump file as file:///root/.MakeMKV/MKB20_v82_PEE-WEE'S_BIG_ADVENTURE_4301.tgz"
...
The KEYDB.cfg file needs to go in the same directory as your generated disc dump files. In your case, this means you'll need to copy /root/.config/aacs/KEYDB.cfg to /root/.MakeMKV/KEYDB.cfg

My 'All The President's Men' UHD disk is now being read in makemkv correctly, so all good.
Thanks to everyone for making these tools and being so helpful! 8)
No worries! I'm glad to hear you are now able to process your disc and you have an additional option for future titles.
AverageMean wrote: Tue Feb 17, 2026 5:45 pm Is there a Mac friendly version of this tool?
Hey AverageMean, unfortunately I don't think there is a native Mac option for FindVUK. I believe Linux users have been able to get it working to some extent via Wine, but I don't recall reading a similar report for macOS. Please feel free to continue posting disc dump files as often as you can.
Public KeyDB Disc Submissions
  • Please use file hosts, not forum attachments
  • You must include the MKB_RO.inf file from the AACS folder on your disc
  • Place the extracted keydb.cfg file in the same directory as your disc dump files

Thanks, I finally got it working!

If this is not the case, I'm going to try to get this work on my Windows machine instead.
Additionally to what you were told above which is absolutely correct, the automatic download is for the MakeMKV hashed keys which is how MakeMKV acquires its own keys. The KeyDB is a completely separate entity that has nothing to do with the automated HK downloads. Meaning, even if the HK downloads were successful, if the key is not known to MakeMKV yet, the KeyDB would still be used. And finally, I would fix the automatic download issue. It's likely DNS related or it's turned off in your MakeMKV settings. That way you can source keys from both MakeMKV HK and the KeyDB at the same time, giving you the best chance to decrypt all your titles going forward.

Thanks, I appreciate the explanation. I'm going to look into the automatic download issue now.

No worries, thanks for the quick follow up. The 262C variant of Five Nights at Freddy's 2 has been added to the public keydb.

Hey user76419, thanks again for taking the time to incorporate the full MKB_RO.inf file into the disc dump. Both discs have been added to the public keydb.

Thanks AverageMeanMedianMode, your disc has been added to the public keydb.

These two discs have also been added to the public keydb:

Code: Select all

Hey BulldogK9, please don't post in this thread to say that you've sent disc dump files somewhere. This thread is for posting links to disc dump files. If you haven't already, I'd recommend following the instructions here to setup the public keydb as it is possible that your discs are already supported.

If either of your Ben-Hur discs aren't currently supported by the public keydb, feel free to follow the template in the opening post and submit the details here.
