SVC EB52 works with flashingMartyMcNuts wrote: ↑Sat Feb 07, 2026 10:06 pmFor flashing, a LG drive should meet all of the below:
Manufacture date 2016+
Drive platform MT1959
SVC: EB50, NB10, NB12, NB50, NB52, NS50, NS55, NS60 (not sure if there is an EB52 or not but if there is it shold be ok)
Basically, if a drive meets the first 2 but has SVC: EB40, NB40, NS40 forget about flashing it. It's not worth the risk, as you found out...
Source: trust me bro (posted my drive details above and am happy to provide more info if anyone needs)

Re: LG BP55EB40 - flash issue
I hope it's OK that I continue on this tread
I have a BP55EB40 drive too (It's a HL-DT-ST BD-RE BP55EB40 to be exact) with 'SVC Code EB52' on the box I've flashed it with the firmware for this drive. All OK. I can rip Blu-rays with no issues. But when I try to load a 4K disc it spins for a minute and then MakeMKV says "No disc inserted"
The drive supports BD-XL
Can I do anything to make it work?

Re: LG BP55EB40 - flash issue
You need to cross-flash it now. Use the RECOVER method of SDFtool Flasher. See the section for BP50NB40 SVC: NB52 and the gif in the SDFtool Flasher thread.Horsecreek wrote: ↑Fri Feb 13, 2026 10:02 pmI hope it's OK that I continue on this tread

Re: LG BP55EB40 - flash issue
Can you provide the exact and correct step-by-step flashing procedure for an LG drive BP55EB40 SVC Code EB52? The information is somewhat scattered across the forum, and it’s hard to figure out what exactly needs to be done.
Thank you in advance.

If you are on Linux, see here viewtopic.php?f=3&t=40977
Otherwise use the GUI tool on windows, it is easier to use than commands. But the individual flashing steps by themselves are identical

That's a tough process but I succeded.
Now I'm working my way through the 4Ks that my Asus drive couldn't read
viewtopic.php?f=16&t=22896&hilit=SDFtool+Flasher
My workthrough
- first I flashed my drive with the BP50NB40 (NB50) 1.03-MK firmware. I'm not sure if that was necessary at all. Because it didn't effectively changed anything
- Then I flashed with the 'DE_LG_BU40N_1.00.bin' from the zip-file from the link above. Now It works perfect.
