Re: Public KeyDB Disc Submissions
Sorry, my MakeMKV told me it was enabled, not sure what was going on. I tried again today on a whim and it was able to open the disc, but then failed to save the files. Then I remembered reading somewhere that 4K disc reading/ripping can require alot of power that USB drives can struggle with (my drive is USB), so I plugged it in to the back of my PC instead of the front panel and it successfully saved the files. So glad because the disc had given me no end of trouble, I was cycling through different BU40NMrPenguin wrote: Sun Jan 25, 2026 4:56 pm

Re: Public KeyDB Disc Submissions
Thanks to everyone who sent in new disc dump files. Aside from the incomplete Tangled disc dump, I believe all submissions have been added to the public keydb. These two UHD variants corresponded to new media keys:
Code: Select all
MKB20_v61_MARVEL'S_AVENGERS-_AGE_OF_ULTRON_997D
MKB20_v82_TheToxicAvenger_634A

- Please use file hosts, not forum attachments
- You must include the MKB_RO.inf file from the AACS folder on your disc
- Place the extracted keydb.cfg file in the same directory as your disc dump files

Hello, where can I get download the latest keydb.cfg file? I was getting it from FindVUK but that site seems to be down.

It's not down. More likely, your browser is trying to use HTTPS, whereas the site only supports HTTP.MrMegadeth99 wrote: Mon Jan 26, 2026 4:46 pm Hello, where can I get download the latest keydb.cfg file? I was getting it from FindVUK but that site seems to be down.

Re: Public KeyDB Disc Submissions
Your disc was added to the public keydb on June 12 last year. If you opened up any keydb.cfg from the past six months in a text editor you could've searched for and found your disc ID.Playboy84 wrote: Mon Jan 26, 2026 5:54 am Disc ID:0x601AF1435A3816B62DA936CA2D3775627C5ECF22

I was really fucking clear in the opening post about the requirement for including the full MKB_RO.inf file. If your disc wasn't already supported by the public keydb, the 56 byte stub in your disc dump file would've been useless compared to the actual file on your disc:Playboy84 wrote: Mon Jan 26, 2026 5:54 am MKB_RO.inf link (Do not just extract the MKB_RO.inf file from the disc dump file - copy it from the disc): N/A (included in disk dump)
keydb_helper wrote: Thu Jun 26, 2025 1:40 am Partial disc dumps
UHD disc dump files are generally 3-8MB. If your disc dump is less than 1MB, you will need to manually include the MKB_RO.inf file when uploading your disc dump file. You can find this file within the AACS folder on your disc. The MKB_RO.inf file may be ~128MB so feel free to zip it before uploading it.
Do not just extract the ~56 byte MKB_RO.inf file from a partial disc dump file and upload it separately. This is not helpful. Instead, copy the MKB_RO.inf file from the AACS folder on your disc and upload it separately. If your MKB_RO.inf file is not several megabytes in size, it is probably not useful for UHD discs.

Re: Public KeyDB Disc Submissions
No worries, but now that you've managed to re-enable LibreDrive, can you provide a discatt.dat file for this disk please? It would still be useful to add this variant of "Tangled" to the public KEYDB.cfg file, and a replacement discatt.dat would "fix" the TGZ dump file that you've already provideddannyb496 wrote: Mon Jan 26, 2026 9:31 am I guess restarting the PC and using the back panel made it work. You can create a discatt.dat file by asking MakeMKV to create an encrypted disk back-up into a temporary directory, waiting until the discatt.dat file appears (and it should be one of the first files created), and then copying it to a safe location before aborting the back-up.
Have you also considered using SamuriHL's KEYDB Helper utility?

Almost, except that you have provided the disk's Unit_Key_RO.inf file instead of its MKB_RO.inf file. Can you (compress and) upload the MKB_RO.inf file from your physical UHD disk please?ingallberry wrote: Tue Jan 27, 2026 7:20 pm MKB_RO.inf link (Do not just extract the MKB_RO.inf file from the disc dump file - copy it from the disc):

And don't forget also to email your TGZ dump file to svq@makemkv.com.
