I was having the exact same problem you were, I'll just post what I did to get it working.

Mine is an LG BP50NB40 from Best Buy.

Using Windows 10, plugged both cables directly into the motherboard (AM5)
Using sdftool flasher 1.3.6

1) First flashed "HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BP50NB40-NB50-1.03-NM00800-212005070917.bin"
2) Select Recover, select "DE_LG_BP50NB40-NB50_1.03_MK.bin", then select "DE_LG_BU40N_1.00.bin", hit START
3) unplugged & replugged drive in, instead of making sounds for awhile, then quitting, a 4k disc showed up & I started ripping. :D

I really hope this helps, since I was about to call it a day & return the drive.

Further notes upon testing, ditched the Micro USB to dual USB A 2.0 cable & used a Micro USB to USB C connector, used an Anker USB C cable I normally use for charging, also tried an Anker USB C to USB A cable (Specs: 15W (3A/5V)), connected it to USB 2.0/3.0/4.0, everything I listed worked just fine for 4k UHD/Blu-ray ripping.

Stopped working again  was able to rip one movie lol, and same error too, I tried the firmware method another couple times after that, it ended up reading a 4k disc once, then I tried another and it didn't work, and the first didn't work after that, regular blu ray still works fine.

So what's the error? Paste the log window text.
Cheers :D

Post the text for your MakeMKV drive info and libredrive info sections.

Alway insert the disc and wait for the OS to initialise it first (it can then be seen in windows explorer). Once the disc has been initialised, you can then open up the MakeMKV application.

Did you clean the UHD disc? If not, do so as 99% of them require cleaning, especially when new in the box as they often have an invisible film on them from the manufacturing process.
Cheers :D

Just tested an older disc and you're 100% right, what should I use to clean them? Also thank you for the help :D

I always try cleaning with just a microfiber cloth. Give it a good wipe and see if that helps. On the odd occasion a more thorough cleaning is required, use a microfiber cloth and soapy water then dry with another microfiber cloth and then let it finish air drying overnight.

Seems like it only wants to work with 2 4K movies, A Clockwork Orange, and Reservoir Dogs. Not bad taste imo, but I wish it would open up it's horizon because none of my other 4k discs work lol, I didn't even have to clean them they just worked, I tried cleaning other discs but it didn't do anything, I also tried waiting for the disc to be initialized by Windows before opening MakeMKV and that didn't work either. I also have a regular Sony 4K Blu Ray player for a tv setup and all of my discs work fine on there. I don't like using it though since it doesn't have HDR support.
