Pioneer Blu-ray players flashable for ripping in 4K Dolby Atmos

Post by gock01 »

Hello,
I'm having a lot of trouble finding recommended Blu-ray players for ripping my 4K Blu-rays in France.

I found the list of Pioneer Blu-ray players on https://fr.pioneer-blurayodd.eu/index.php
Are the following models flashable and will they work for ripping 4K Blu-rays with Dolby Atmos using Make MKV?

Thank you

Pioneer:
BDR-X13E-X
BDR-X13E-S
BDR-X13EBK
BDR-XD08EMB-S
BDR-XD08TB
BDR-XD08TS
BDR-XD08TG
BDR-XS07TUHD
BDR-XS07TS
BDR-S13E-X
BDR-S13EBK
BDR-213EBK
BDR-212DBK

If the drive was manufactured after 12/2022, it won't be flashable due to firmware changes.

All drives from Pioneer are now "old stock", since they aren't made anymore, so the key is finding ones made before the cut-off date.

Having said that, the BDR-XD08EMB-S and BDR-XS07TUHD at least support UHD natively, and so wouldn't need flashing anyway. Whereas the BDR-XD08TB, BDR-XD08TS, BDR-XD08TG and BDR-XS07TS only support ordinary BDs out-of-the-box.
