Your dump is not usable because your drive has not yet enabled LibreDrive (LD). However, the latest KEYDB.cfg file already contains an entry for this disk, and so if MakeMKV still cannot decrypt it after you enable LD, you should just download the latest KEYDB.cfg file, copy it into MakeMKV's data directory (i.e. where MakeMKV also writes its TGZ dump files) and restart MakeMKV.

I downloaded the latest KEYDB and put it in the MakeMKV directory and I can see an entry for this movie, but I still get that the volume key is unknown. Does this just mean I have a different pressing of the disc or could it be something else?

It depends - Did MakeMKV manage to enable LibreDrive for your drive? If your disk is a different variant then your TGZ dump file would have a 4-character code other than E66E in its name.

Code: Select all

0xD46056F20F1EEB4813AC4B4D02B7B4E890B8AA50 = ONE_BATTLE_AFTER_ANOTHER (One Battle After Another) | D | 2025-10-29 | M | 0x0876163613199FC54ABA449AE6861540 | I | 0xE599E65D0023AF451753B5B38497E922 | V | 0x4ECA5B337682502DDAFACAB9C9AE2BE5 | U | 1-0x57FECD4250FBC4D0FFE323C9DDA0D824 ; MKBv82/BEE/FindVUK 1.82 - VolumeSize: 98046574592 (UHD)
Yes, I have LibreDrive enabled and have ripped many discs. My dump file does have a different code and I emailed it to svq. How does the 4-character code relate to the entry in KeyDB? I don't know how to tell from the KeyDB entry whether it's the same disc as mine.

A different code means a different disk variant, i.e. the SHA1 hash of your disk's AACS/Unit_Key_RO.inf file will be different to that of the E66E variant.

Any updates about this being accessable would be appreciated; I am not having any luck with public keyDB either.

If you'd like to see your disc added to the public keydb, you'll need to provide a disc dump. Check out the thread in my signature for info on submitting disc dumps for the keydb.
Public KeyDB Disc Submissions
  • Please use file hosts, not forum attachments
  • If your disc dump is under 3MB, you need to manually include the MKB_RO.inf file from the AACS folder
