Two sets of files shown

Post by Magicrat »

When ripping after the disc is opened it shows two sets of files each with same amount of data. so one disc will show the movie twice but i just select the first one. Is this correct? I have tested some of the ones i have done and playback is fine just wondering if i am missing anything.

thanks

With blu-rays and 4K UHDs, sometimes MakeMKV will show the movie twice in the tree of items you can choose to rip. Almost always when this happens, one will have chapter markers and one will not. You can see this information in the info box on the right when you highlight an item in the tree on the left. Generally speaking, choose the one with chapters.

The second one often has Japanese, or other far east Asian subtitles. Just something to do with the authoring, and player option expectations.
