Looking for external USB Blu Ray Drive Recommendations

Hey everybody,

I searched the forums first and am looking to buy a drive to archive my physical media (4k, etc.). Finding it hard to find something in Canada which correlates with the makemkv firmware stuff I find here. Worst case I'll buy from eBay US but would prefer the get something locally. Any physical format is fine, but slim would be preferred if available.

Edit: looking to read & rip 4K video disks mainly, not concerned with writing.

You didn't specify if you're looking to rip video with the drive, or simply use it to write data to high-density disks. There are a number of Pioneer disks that will write 3-layer disks, but are forbidden by their software from READING 4K video disks.

If you're not looking to read 4K UHD video, your choices are easier.

Looking to read & rip 4k, writing is of low interest really.
