Only getting longer CAN mean the drive is not able to read the disk, as opposed to not being able to DECODE its encryption.
I'm in the midst of re-ripping all my DVDs and BDs, and have several disks that are currently giving me hell. Some, I just need to clean; others... I'll deal with after I rip what is in front of them. ALL have been read in the past, and stored in supposedly good conditions, but some are just being a PITA, honestly.

Clean these discs before trying again and next time perhaps paste the MakeMKV log window text if you want help as just saying they "don't work" is simply not going to cut it.synysterdiablo wrote: ↑Wed Dec 24, 2025 8:02 pmIt

All these movies I believe are WB movies, that doesn't have something to do with it?Woodstock wrote: ↑Wed Dec 24, 2025 10:55 pmOnly getting longer CAN mean the drive is not able to read the disk, as opposed to not being able to DECODE its encryption.

It is possible that WB packaging is, um, "gassy" and can contaminate disks more often, but the ones I've experienced are generally not WB. The one I have in front of me is a Sentai Filmworks, and it ripped just fine 5 years ago.

What do you recommend cleaning them with?
Re: These Blu Rays aren't working for me...
Personally, I use the equivalent of Pledge furniture polish (I keep a non-aerosol spray bottle near my computer), but others use dish soap, and other similar (non-chemical) cleaners.
You do NOT want to distort the plastic!!!! The object is to simply clean off the chemical film that builds up when you store the disk in its packaging. The problem is that it is very difficult to see; it is most obvious if you take a swipe (center to edge) with a cleaning cloth and shine a light along it. Then you say, "Oh, crap! Where'd THAT come from?"
This is one reason I try not to rip disks that have sat a long time in the packaging.
