Hi All,

Please can someone help me with flashing my Verbatim Blu-Ray drive?

Details from MakeMKV

Drive Information
OS device name: F:
Manufacturer: HL-DT-ST
Product: BD-RE BU40N
Revision: 1.05
Serial number: MOEP7I95102
Firmware date: 2124-04-23 13:47
Bus encryption flags: 17

LibreDrive Information
Status: Possible, not yet enabled
Drive platform: MT1959

No disc inserted

Will LibreDrive be compatible with AnyDVD?

As I still have that installed on my system, despite the software now been defunct.

I might move onto using xreveal https://www.xreveal.com/in the future as its very similar to AnyDVD.

Thanks :)

Yes, it will be compatible with AnyDVD and XReveal. For both programs you should use the KEYDB.cgf.

is the list of drives in the original post actually updated for 2025?

Post by dynasty8122 »

The posting date on that original post is 2019. I've checked a few of the recommended drives & didn't find any that were available for sale new (which, I get it--the physical media industry is kind of on the downswing). So maybe I do really need to e.g., scour ebay for the oldies. But seeing that there are 200 pages on this thread+ makes me afraid that the actually-updated list is somewhere else in the forum-thread-haystack if you know what I mean... Thanks in advance!

did you change the makemkv data directory ?
makemkv is reporting it cant write at all

this can be caused by a few things changing the directory to a place you dont have permission to access or a drive that was removed or even trying to write back to the disc it self seen that way to many times

Did you look in the "For Sale" forum: Drives for sale, Flashing Services, where to buy... ?

Many new (current models that are the only thing available) for sale there. I have 4 x models available for purchase, pre-flashed. Links are in my signature.

Thanks,
Frank
