No dump file created for AACS v82 discs

Post by cyberbillp »

I'm running the Linux client and I have the new Tom and Jerry Blueray discs which are encoded in AACS v82.
I get the AACS v82 warning, the discs are unreadable and I get a link to report it. But I'm not getting any kind of dump file in the ~/makemkv folder.

I've read that I'm supposed to send in the dump files. Do I have to turn them on or something?

I've been clicking the link in the MakeMKV progress window.

Could it be because I have a Pioneer drive?

MakeMKV should create the dump automatically. The dump file should be in MakeMKV's data directory (check the General tab in preferences). If the file is already in the directory, it will not create it again.

Thank you. I know that. Why would it not be making them?
Also, I've put the Keydb.cfg file in the folder and it contains the keys I need, but it does not recognize it. I even tried various name capitalization's. It's a no go.

Here's the entry from keydb.cfg
0x4BA23FF61AFCEAAEB5BC1EB635B88967A26B64A5 = TJ_GOLDEN_ERA_ANTHOLOGY_D1 (Tom and Jerry: The Golden Era Anthology 1940-1958 Disc 1) | D | 2025-09-23 | M | 0x1341489FCA588208CF6A9E02501810ED | I | 0x134E1D5513B37D1A725DECD99DFC3FB8 | V | 0x4D5D601326A4CEA8BAC433265C25EBA3 | U | 1-0x14FD287CBEECFD18AF65041F34EE5171 ; MKBv82/FindVUK 1.82 - VolumeSize: 45371621376 (BD)

So if anyone cares, I put KEYDB.cfg in the ~/.config/aacs/ folder and Handbrake works fine. So it's not the Keydb.cfg file, or my drive, it's Makemkv that is broken.

Can you post your MakeMKV log of it not working?

Now it's working. I have no clue. Maybe I did something or there was dirt on the drive lens, who knows. In any case, it's working.
