I have bought Pioneer XD08TB from Asmcom and I have nothing but the highest regard for both the seller and the drive.

I already had a Verbatim 43888(BU40N) and I struggled with 4K UHDs. 4/10 UHD were erroring out, some of them errored out at the last minute and generally a PITA to deal with. I decided to give Pioneer a go after reading this forum. To be frank, I assumed the capabilities of Pioneers were a bit exaggerated and hyped by sellers and owners due to various factors, but boy, I was so wrong. All the 4K UHDs failed multiple times by BU40N were read without a single error by Pioneer drive . I wanted to push it to the limit so I tried a bluray(Paul 2011) I had, which had some of the back print peeled off, so it wouldn't even be recognised by BU40N. I was able to RIP it successfully with Pioneer, albeit with a few minor a/v sync issues(none of those were noticeable).

Here is a list of 4K UHDs that failed with BU40N but ripped with Pioneer.
- Lord of War
- Cabin in the woods
- Rambo
- The Thing

Drive came with all the cables I ever needed and Haribos were a nice touch too. Thanks for Asmcom for upgrading my postage and prompt responses, you are amazing.

si comme moi vous cherchez un lecteur fiable pour ripper vos film allez y les yeux fermés.

Hello, kinda new to the whole Blu Ray ripping thing.

I have a friend who has a Asus BW 16D1H-U-Pro, but he is returning it because it is faulty ( after 2 month... )
So I am looking for a new BD drive for him ( probably also one for me ) capable of UHD ripping. It needs to be an external drive, and the software he uses is DVDfab.

What would be available ? we are located in France.

Just wanted to post a review regarding my purchase of the Pioneer Premium BDR-XD08EMB-S from Asmcom. The drive was ordered 2025-12-05, and I received it yesterday.
The postage was upgraded to UPS International Saver Express, Tracked & Signed Post, for free, many thanks for that!

I already backed up Rambo first blood 4K yesterday, and also tried an old DVD (Taxi). It worked flawlessly! The drive feels quality, and also looks good! I already have the Verbatim 43888 with the pioneer drive inside, but as a backup I wanted to have a real Pioneer unit as well, if/when the Verbatim fails.

I’m very happy with the purchase, and the service from Asmcom, and can happily recommend them. The packaging was very good and solid, and the shipping was fast.

Previously bought from you and been very happy with an LG BH16NS55 with WH16NS60 v1.02mk

I have started to have errors with all disks recently when using MakeMKV , an example error message is ''Scsi error - ILLEGAL REQUEST:COPY PROTECTION KEY EXCHANGE FAILURE - KEY NOT PRESENT'.

I think this mean the drive is failing?

If it is time for a new drive what would you recommend.
