I emailed the file on Sunday, but it's still not working today

Unfortunately, this TGZ dump file is unusable :(. You need to create these dumps directly from the disk to guarantee that they contain everything needed to calculate the disk's keys. If you're going to copy the disk contents to your hard drive first then you need to use MakeMKV's "backup" functionality to do it, so that MakemKV can still extract critical metadata from the disk.
