Not yet as firmware is post 11/2022 but I hear libredrive support is coming pretty soon! That doesn't mean it will do UHD though. Not sure if they will be able to be cross-flashed with MakeMKV's SDFtool. We will have to wait and see.Arkus wrote: ↑Sun Nov 02, 2025 9:43 pmHere's my drive info:

Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives
Sadly, it seems that you are correct. I put a triple-layer UHD BD in, and it attempts to read for a minute and gives up with "no disc".MartyMcNuts wrote: ↑Mon Nov 03, 2025 3:53 amNot yet as firmware is post 11/2022 but I hear libredrive support is coming pretty soon! Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives
Hmm, I tried running it according to the instructions but received an error message saying "failed to send kernel". Did I do something wrong?
Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives
Are you on Windows? Some VMs fail. Use VMWare.TheGame21x wrote: ↑Fri Nov 07, 2025 9:28 pmHmm, I tried running it according to the instructions but received an error message saying "failed to send kernel". Did I do something wrong?

Yes, I'm on Windows 10. I can try using VMWare. the firmware I received was for the BDR-211, will that work for my 209M drive? Thanks for the help!Coopervid wrote: ↑Fri Nov 07, 2025 9:42 pmAre you on Windows? Some VMs fail. Re: LibreDrive for Pioneer drives
I don't think he was indicating a VM improves the process - just that if you are using a VM, the settings of the virtualization app/virtual machine may cause issues.TheGame21x wrote: ↑Fri Nov 07, 2025 9:45 pmYes, I'm on Windows 10. I exclusively use macOS as my primary computer OS. I have never had a failure with MakeMKV/flashing tools in Windows 10 & 11 VMs, on UTM (Free/Open Source), vmWare Fusion & Parallels. Due to licensing & what I own, I often switch between Win 10/11 VMs on all three virtualization apps, when working with/flashing optical drives that require Windows.
Thanks,
Frank
