Speed control still possible?

Post by VA1DER »

It seems since 1.18.2 that the speed control setting is no longer written for new drives to settings.conf. Is this feature now deprecated?

EDIT: My settings.conf had an existing stub speed entry for my LG WH16NS60 from earlier MakeMKV versions. I can successfully use this to set the speed of my LG. It seems like MakeMKV 1.18.2 no longer creates stub speed entries. I tried to create one manually for my Pioneer BDR-S13UBK, but I can't get it to work.

I went looking at my speed settings because I was surprised my Pioneer was limited to 4x CLV when my LG will rip at 12x CAV.

All Pioneers are limited to 4x for UHD - but not for BD.

Useful to know, I suspected that was the case, but I'm still curious about the speed control setting and whether or not it's deprecated and/or if I'm doing something wrong that the stub isn't being created in my config.
