So basically I've been extracting HDR10+ and/or RPU, editing to sync frames accordingly if needed and calling it a day. Never generated or watched a plot.

Sounds about right.

When I started off, I bookmarked his tutorial videos for easy reference. I rewatch them when I get confused or have questions. 99% of the time, my questions are answered in the videos. His DV explanation videos are great too.

I also use his spreadsheet as well as his DV movie brightness folder (I recommend using JDownloader as google drive search sucks.)

Reset doesn't advertise this enough IMO, but for a small donation you get access to his huge RPU collection. (JDownloader reports more than 2200 RPUs!) Extremely worth it, and he very much deserves it, considering the significant public service he has provided in the DV space.

I've just received my Ugoos AM6+ and I've followed the instructions to install the CE nightly and then "upgrade" to CPM's A14 build.
However CPM's build seems unmaintained as A14 seems from the second of march this year.
Do the latest Omega CE nightlies offer the same features/experience? or would there be a newer build that has the changes/fixes from CPM?
It seems on the official CE forums, they don't really like users to talk about CPM's build..

All my high bitrate content is buffering and freezing a lot when streaming from my remote Plex server.
They play fine on my LG G5's internal player.

It seems my AM6B+ is blessed with a faulty ethernet port?
I've connected it to a 2.5gbit switch, but I configured the port at a fixed 1gbit rate.

Testing download speed on my AM6B+ running CE CPM A14:

For the record, I'm running the iperf server on my plex machine (remote) with: iperf -s -p 5000
On the client I'm setting the -R flag, so its testing reverse speed, downloading from server to client.

So either the CPM build is messed up or I have a unit with a bad ethernet connection.
Any ideas?
Perhaps some USB 3.0 gigabit adapter?

You don’t need any update, the CPM version already does everything you need.
As noted on my excel sheet, I had issues with my 10 Gbps router and switch too, the connection was stuck at 100 Mbps. I ended up buying a cheap 1 Gbps switch just for the Ugoos, and now I get a full 1 Gbps connection.

Yes but it's not the same issue, I've tried two 2.5gbit switches and in both cases I got a solid gigabit link.
Switching the test to iperf3 makes the connection drop even further to 25mbit/s... that must explain the buffering issues.
On the other hand if I remove the -R flag so it actually uploads to the server, then it hits 900+mbit.
So either a hardware or firmware/driver issue where the ethernet connection seems messed up when downloading.

I'll try a cheap gigabit switch just to be sure otherwise just switch to wifi.
If I can hit 150 to 200mbit on 5GHz I should be good to go.
I could also get some gigabit usb 3.0 adapter, but I've read reports of it interfering with the remote controller.

Same CE CPM A14 build, just using the USB dongle instead of the builtin ethernet.
This must explain some of the posts on Reddit and other forums where people with the Ugoos state that no amount of cache settings tweak fixes the buffering issues on high bitrate content
Some of these Ugoos boxes ship with broken ethernet I guess.

You can also force DV for HDR10 to avoid the posterization and banding problems on LG TVs.

Yes I did some testing and it matches the example videos

Only issues I've had so far:
- it seems the receiver turns off after a long period of time, by then it disappears from hdmi cec and I have to use its original remote to turn it back on.
I have turned off all options that make the box go into standby in the cec settings. Also there are no timeouts configured in the energy settings. Perhaps there is a hidden turn off somewhere. I'm not sure. But I like it to always stay on so I can control it using hdmi cec.
- some subtitles (I think pgs) turn grey instead of white when viewed in Dolby Vision
- resuming bluray remuxes sometimes make it go out of sync

But thats about it. Nothing major.

I had this issue before CPM A13-12, but since A14, this has been fixed on my end.

Yeah I don't use the standby mode. I leave my ugoos on all day long and turn it off when I go to sleep.

I think the GUI brightness settings will affect the pgs brightness.

How do you force it? Using the g5 settings or ugoos settings? Is there any downside?

In the Ugoos DV settings. I still prefer generating DV but overall it works very well, similar to real DV or madVR DTM. It doesn’t alter the image when the content is within the TV’s capabilities. No black crush has well. see: https://youtu.be/2N6uBDmSwec

Cool. I heard we could do the same for gaming by enabling Dolby Vision PC in the g5 settings.
