For anyone that has already received their drive from me, or expects it soon, please see this note I added to my original post:

Note: The drives come with a disc that includes various applications & tools. I have not tested or verified anything on the disc. I strongly suggest you use caution if you install/use the tools on the disc, especially if any of them may prompt or automatically "update" the drive firmware. If the drive firmware is modified after being flashed for UHD/4K/backup, the drive may become unflashable or no longer work for UHD/4K/backup! Please take caution.

These drives need ONE crossflash by Billy or myself. NEVER EVER try to apply any firmware after that. You will ruin any Libredrive and UHD capability!

Buying from Frank was super easy, no hassle or patching needed. I was a bit worried at first, but he’s legit and sent the tracking number the same day. Highly recommend!

Hi I am interested in purchasing more than 1 of these Asus (with BDR-S12U) drives. If you would be so kind as to PM me that would be great. Thank you.

Hi Frank, I'm also a longer-term viewer of the forum but as a new registered user cannot PM just yet. I'd be interested in a drive purchase - would you be able to message me? Thank you, Brian.

Even with a new account, I believe you should be able to reply to the PM I just sent. I also included my e-mail address in the PM if you'd like to communicate that way.

Thanks,
Frank

Someone asked if these drives were "shuckable" - able to be removed from the USB chassis & used as a normal, internal 5 1/4" SATA drive.

I have not tried to disassemble the unit I'm keeping & using, but I am 99.9% sure these are standard 5 1/4" internal SATA drives.

The USB chassis has a spring loaded fold down front panel. Behind that appears to be a normal 5 1/4" optical drive trim plate, drive tray & tray panel, with an eject pin-hole below the tray. Below is a picture inside the front of the chassis.

Thanks,
Frank
