AACS v82 submission - Touché Turtle and Dum Dum (Hanna-Barbera)

Post by mickhyperion »

The new Hanna-Barbera Touché Turtle and Dum Dum discs are encoded with AACS v82 and MakeMKV says: "The volume key is unknown for this disc - video can't be decrypted."

I have sent the dump files for both discs to svq@makemkv.com and have posted them to Google Drive:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1e382Yn ... share_link

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ScclJN ... share_link

Thanks for your help!

Can you adjust the "Share" option on both those files please, so that people can access them?

Thanks MrPenguin and anyone else who helped. The latest keydb.cfg file did the trick!

AFAIK the latest KEYDB.cfg file contains the keys for:
  • MKB_v82_TOUCHE_TURTLE_AND_DUM_DUM_D1_88A4.tgz
  • MKB_v82_TOUCHE_TURTLE_AND_DUM_DUM_D2_3428.tgz
If your dumps have the same variant codes (i.e. 88A4 and 3428) then downloading the latest KEYDB.cfg file, copying it into MakeMKV's data directory (i.e. where MakeMKV also writes its TGZ dump files) and restarting MakeMKV should work.

If your variant codes are different then could you upload your dumps into (say) OneDrive or Google Drive please, and then reply with public download links?

Tried these discs with the latest KEYDB.cfg file and it still fails

MKB_v82_TOUCHE_TURTLE_AND_DUM_DUM_D1_88A4
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1vOtsoh ... drive_link

MKB_v82_TOUCHE_TURTLE_AND_DUM_DUM_D2_3428
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1sso_HW ... drive_link

Please thank you for any help

Only way for this to work is to uncheck Decrypt which I've never had to do before. Hopefully it still works.

Yes I have the same codes. Apparently they are no longer working unfortunately. And ripping undecrypted results in non playable discs. So no solution currently.

You have the exact same disks as the original poster, and the keys are indeed in the latest KEYDB.cfg file. See:

Code: Select all

0xC689B8479B0EFFD09643A2D9992FEB7C6294754F = TOUCHE TURTLE AND DUM DUM D1 (TOUCHE TURTLE AND DUM DUM D1) | D | 2025-08-28 | ...
and

Code: Select all

0x6A2A96BFDD9B1D4DB7B8B213FE23E80F5ACF7CBA = TOUCHE TURTLE AND DUM DUM D2 (TOUCHE TURTLE AND DUM DUM D2) | D | 2025-08-27 | ...
Your encrypted disk back-ups are almost certainly fine too, they just need a software player capable of decrypting them at runtime, e.g. VLC.
