Re: Public KeyDB Disc Submissions
Hey tylwyth, thanks for the new disc dump. The FE26 variant of Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me has been added to the public keydb.
Hey Jacob, this is the third time you have posted in this thread and the third time your disc was already supported by the public keydb. I appreciate the intent to help but you aren't going about things the right way. From now on I'm going to ignore your posts unless you make it clear you have downloaded and tried the latest keydb immediately before posting.

Public KeyDB Disc Submissions
- LG/Buffalo/Asus drives only (Pioneer drives are not supported)
- Please use file hosts, not forum attachments
- If your disc dump is under 3MB, you need to manually include the MKB_RO.inf file from the AACS folder
Re: Public KeyDB Disc Submissions
Hi Keydb_helper - I have managed to rip Red Planet, But City on Fire doesn't seem to be in the database yet as it won't rip despite having downloaded and tested the last 3 updates?keydb_helper wrote: ↑Sat Oct 11, 2025 4:04 amThanks to everyone who provided new UHD disc dump files. The following disc variants have been added to the public keydb:
Code: Select all
MKB20_v82_City_On_Fire_0F34 MKB20_v82_MI_FINAL_RECKONING_619E MKB20_v82_Red_Planet_9178
Any help would be greatly appreciated - Many thanks!

Re: Public KeyDB Disc Submissions
Hey MKVDUDE, what is the exact error message shown when you try to process City On Fire?
I just double checked and I believe it is in the keydb. Open up the keydb.cfg file with a text editor and search for 0x62AC07902956D4888A7CE934917E967B47526B30. You should see a line like this (keys redacted for the forum):
Code: Select all
0x62AC07902956D4888A7CE934917E967B47526B30 = City On Fire | D | 0000-00-00 | M | 0x86C6... | I | 0xE8E7... | V | 0x6A6F... | U | 1-0xB63E... ; MKBv82/BEE (UHD)

You should see a line like this (keys redacted for the forum):I did notice that unit key validation wasn't possible for your City On Fire disc as the kv.dat file contained no aligned units. Could you try unplugging your BU40N, restarting your computer, creating a new disc dump file and resubmitting it to this thread? If the volume ID was incorrect in your original disc dump that would prevent MakeMKV from processing your disc.Code: Select all
0x62AC07902956D4888A7CE934917E967B47526B30 = City On Fire | D | 0000-00-00 | M | 0x86C6... | I | 0xE8E7... | V | 0x6A6F... | U | 1-0xB63E... ; MKBv82/BEE (UHD)
I have tried to rip the disc itself, and the encrypted backup I have made.
Using the disc it takes an age going through the different m2ts files (Approx 15 mins) then acts as if its a fresh disc with this message -
MakeMKV v1.18.2 darwin(arm64-release) started
Optical drive "BD-RE HL-DT-ST BD-RE BU40N 1.03 MO9L5U82152d" opened in OS access mode.
Using LibreDrive mode (v06.3 id=866A98CB9C4E)
Using direct disc access mode
Loaded content hash table, will verify integrity of M2TS files.
Saved AACS dump file as /Users/n/Desktop/MKB20_v82_City_On_Fire_0F34.tgz
The volume key is unknown for this disc - video can't be decrypted
Failed to open disc
Attempting to rip from the encrypted backup flies through the process and gives the same result.

Thanks for following up. I'm now wondering whether this may be another unencrypted disc...MKVDUDE wrote: ↑Sun Oct 12, 2025 3:10 amUnplugged and restarted as instructed.

You mentioned that you had created a protected backup. Could you please navigate to the BDMV/STREAM folder and try to play any of the M2TS files with a player such as VLC? Don't try to play the disc or backup as a Blu-ray with VLC, just open the M2TS file directly.
If you can play the files directly than your disc is like The Wicker Man and it isn't actually encrypted but the presence of the AACS folder confuses MakeMKV.
If you can't play any of the M2TS files with VLC I'd have to ask you to upload the smallest M2TS file from your decrypted backup to a file host and post the link here or send it via PM. If you could also zip up and provide the complete AACS folder that would be appreciated.

Re: Public KeyDB Disc Submissions
Hello and good morning,
I have three dump files here that I can't decrypt.
the dump files are BD files.
https://www.mediafire.com/file/elgt0gv5 ... 2.tgz/file
https://www.mediafire.com/file/2reqpszs ... C.tgz/file
https://www.mediafire.com/file/hkbnpsm1 ... C.tgz/file
The drive is a LG BU 40.
i hope that is right and completely.

I went to the backup - the m2ts files play fine with VLC!
I deleted the AACS folder and now the backup runs fine through MakeMKV!
Thanks for your help!
Re: Public KeyDB Disc Submissions
Have you tried downloading the latest KEYDB.cfg file, copying it into MakeMKV's data directory (i.e. where MakeMKV also writes its TGZ dump files) and restarting MakeMKV?
