Issue with two drives
Re: Issue with two drives
I had the same problem just now after adding new hdd's to the PC which led to my switching around which SATA ports I was using for each device. There's a mix of SATA 2 and SATA 3 ports on the board. Upstream these are handled by different chipsets. When I plug the optical drive into the SATA 2 ports MakeMKV recognizes both drives. When I plugged one of them into the SATA 3, handled by a Marvell chipset I believe, MakeMKV doesn't identify it. I checked and apparently upstream the SATA 3 ports on my motherboard are identified as SCSI drives due to the controller.

Re: Issue with two drives
Thank you for this wonderful explanation as this provided clarity with my own struggles with my two BD-RW drives and their SATA connections. However, I don't think my SATA port's upstream in question is identified as SCSI since it was recognized previously. It's just the mere mentioning of it gave me the idea to swap my SATA ports to my drives, since my most valuable and used drive is the 4K friendly one.Gadgety wrote: ↑Wed Aug 22, 2018 11:31 amI had the same problem just now after adding new hdd's to the PC which led to my switching around which SATA ports I was using for each device.
